Weekly CoR implementation tip

Does your organisation have a Consultation and Communication Policy?

The purpose of a Consultation and Communication Policy is to set out the commitment to involve employees in the areas and decisions that impact their health and safety.

The key components of a Consultation and Communication Policy include:

  • A commitment to regular, genuine consultation and communication;
  • The purpose of consultation and communication;
  • A summary of consultation and communication arrangements, methods, timing and frequency;
  • A summary of key roles and responsibilities involved in consultation and communication, such as the health and safety representatives and health and safety committees.

The Consultation and Communication Policy supports CoR as it helps to ensure that employees have:

  • Involvement in the decisions around CoR that impact them and their role;
  • Their CoR responsibilities communicated to them.
