Weekly CoR implementation tip

Does your organisation have the Fatigue Management Procedure?

The Fatigue Management Procedure sets out the processes and requirements of the Fatigue Risk Management Framework (also known as a Fatigue Risk Management System), key responsibilities, and supporting records, policies and procedures.

The Fatigue Risk Management Framework incorporates the relevant Fatigue Management Strategy that the organisation operates under (i.e. Standard Hours, Basic Fatigue Management or Advanced Fatigue Management). It contains the same set of stages that we just covered for Risk Management, that the organisation will use to identify, assess, eliminate (where practicable) or else minimise and then monitor fatigue-related risks. All details of fatigue-related risks will also be added to the Risk Register.

Does your Fatigue Management Procedure include:

  • The purpose and scope of the procedure;
  • The stages of the Fatigue Risk Management Framework;
  • A detailed explanation of the processes and requirements of each stage of the Fatigue Risk Management Framework;
  • Key roles and detailed responsibilities involved in the Fatigue Risk Management Framework;
  • Key records and reporting outputs of the Fatigue Risk Management Framework
  • Requirements for regular monitoring, review and audit of the Fatigue Risk Management Framework.
