There’s good news for road users along the Great Northern Highway in WA, three sections of the Muchea to Wubin corridor will be upgraded thanks to funding from federal and state governments.

The government will provide an additional $131.68 million funding to a 37.6km stretch of road which forms part of a bigger $344.75 million strategy to improve traffic safety along the north of Perth.

Muchea North, Pithara and Miling will have upgrades which include the widening of the road and building of new overtaking lanes as well as bypasses and other realignments.

The upgrades will better separate trucks and cars, thereby improving traffic safety and efficiency for freight.

Improvements are expected to be completed by 2019. See more at https://www.fullyloaded.com.au/industry-news/1709/more-funding-for-great-northern-highway
