Truck Driver Seen Obscuring Licence Plates

A recent article on Herald Sun revealed that it had caught a driver as he pulled onto the side of a busy Melbourne road and obscured his number plate with a piece of rubbish.

The driver stuffed the rubbish into his front licence plate to obscure the first letter of the truck’s registration number, presumably to escape vehicle recognition technology built to charge motorists for the use of the road.

If the the full registration number is not visible, the driver cannot be charged the fee. Drivers who attempt this face a traffic infringement notice for $158.57.
