Truck Explosion Causes Major Delays in Brisbane

The cause of a truck explosion on the Pacific Highway last week at Loganholme will most likely be revealed following an investigation into the incident which left southbound lanes closed for a considerable amount of time.

The incident occurred around 8:40am in the morning and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called in to battle the blaze, caused when a truck carrying hydrochloric acid exploded.

Queensland Ambulance Service were also on the scene and said the driver managed to escape the cab before they arrived. He was not injured.

The fumes from the explosion were so extreme that people in the vicinity were advised to stay indoors and those with breathing difficulties were advised to have their breathing aids on hand.
