Changes to Dangerous Goods Transport Requirements in Force Soon

The dangerous goods transport requirements have undergone changes which will be in force in less than 4 months.

The National Transport Commission (NTC) is seeking to bring awareness to the changes, encouraging both business owners and the industry to prepare for the launch on March 1st.

Edition 7.5 of the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail, will not only reduce the regulatory burden for business owners and keep people safe, but also protect our environment, the NTC said.

There will also be new rules governing the transport of dangerous goods in limited quantities. Changes also include increasing the placard limit from 1 to 2 tonnes for all limited quantities and introduction of simpler documentation for household and personal care substances.
