Coffs Harbour Truck Driver Saves Woman’s Life on Highway

A North Coast towing driver has been hailed as hero and crowned Brandag Highway Guardian after saving a woman’s life.

The man was driving on the Pacific Highway on 17 January when he saw a crash in the distance. He arrived at the scene and found the woman slumped over the steering wheel. He began first aid, opening her airway and keeping her breathing until the ambulance alive.

The man is an ex firefighter and first aider so he instinctively knew what to do.

He also reached through the driver’s window and supported her head and neck, lifted her up into her seat so her airway could open.
