More Rest Areas Needed to Cut Road Toll

According to former advanced driving trainer Norm Bolitho, roadside rest areas should ideally be situated every 10km to help drivers fight fatigue and cut the road death toll.

In an article on CentralWesternDaily.com.au Mr Bolitho’s view was highlighted and he has begun a statewide campaign calling for areas where motorists can rest and safely use their mobile phones every 10 kilometers.

He believes in order to get off the road and rest, to overcome driver fatigue, rest areas need to be at frequent intervals.

Mr Bolitho’s concerns about driver fatigue are shared by police and rescue services.
