German long haul driver Heiko Gebhardt said his job was eating away at his health and caused him to gain a dangerous 115 kilos because of the sedentary lifestyle associated with long distance driving. In addition to the weight gain, he also suffered with back pain.
The company he works for Spedition Fehrenkötter came up with a solution to his problem, a fitness studio in the cab of his Mercedes-Benz Actros.
The system called ‘TopFit-Set’ helps drivers by getting them to exercise in between driving. This helps them stay in shape, reduce stress and muscle tension.
Since the equipment was installed, Heiko has lost 35kg and is overall happier and healthier.
