We may see changes in Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws if the proposed Heavy Vehicle National Law and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2016 which has been tabled in the Queensland Parliament is accepted.
Under the proposed amendments, proceedings could be brought against parties in the chain, even if an incident has not yet occurred.
In cases where laws have been breached, the proposed amendments call for greater penalties.
