Volvo’s first all electrical truck for commercial use has been debuted in Europe.

Sales and production of the electrical truck model will start in 2019, with the Volvo FL Electric aimed at urban distribution and refuse operations.

The heavy vehicles contain between two and six lithium-ion batteries with up to 300kWh capacity. They can be fully charged in 1-2 hours through DC charging, or left to charge for up to 10 hours overnight through AC charging.

Volvo Trucks Australia said the vehicles which are emission-free are suitable for night work in noise sensitive areas and for use in environmental zones and in indoor terminals. Source: https://www.ownerdriver.com.au/product-news/1804/volvo-premieres-all-electric-truck-in-europe
