Road authorities in South Australia recently embarked on a truck safety operation at Dry Creek and while they did not give the total number of vehicles stopped, they were able to give the number of contraventions detected.

Inspectors from the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator as well as Road Policing Section members were involved in the operation which took place on Churchill Road North at Dry Creek.

Officers issued 22 expiation notices, 17 fines, 5 cautions for various offences including unsecured loads and licence breaches.

Police said 41 defects were issued and 22 were classified as major. Authorities also said 4 drivers tested positive to drugs and 2 were reported for driving without a licence.
