The heavy vehicle regulator plans on inspecting 9000 trucks during a national survey, to get a better picture of the Australian fleet.

The NHVR (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator) CEO Sal Petroccitto, said the survey will sample approximately 9000 heavy vehicles to get a better understanding of the country’s trucking standard.

Road trains, rigid, articulated, B-Double trucks, buses and plant equipment will form part of the survey.

Trained inspectors will be collating consistent safety information during the national survey of heavy vehicle road worthiness, Mr Petroccitto explained.
