Truck Driver Arrest After Collision with Police

A truck driver has been arrested after a police chase of almost 70km.

Police received reports of the B-Double driving erratically without headlights south of Grafton and spotted the vehicle which they pursued.

The 48 year old driver attempted to run a police vehicle off the road and later side swiped a parked police truck that was blocking the entrance to Grafton as a precaution.

No one was injured in the chase which continued until the driver stopped at Chatsworth Island. Police say the driver continued to resist attempts to get him out of his cabin.

Police suspect he was under the influence of drugs.He was taken to hospital.
