Truck Drivers React to Study Revealing Truck Driving is Most Dangerous Job in Australia

Following the recent revelation that trucking is the most dangerous industry in Australia and the Monash University study that revealed that truck drivers are 13 times more likely to die at work than any other profession, truckies are demanding urgent action.
Truck driving is also one of the most unhealthy jobs according to the study, given the long hours, isolation, time pressure and lack of job control.
The study also revealed serious implications for the wider economy because of driver health and safety. Over the 12 year period of the study, 1 million weeks of work were lost because of injury.
The Transport Workers Union National Secretary Michael Kaine said the findings are alarming and require serious action.
