The Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has promised $4million in funding for the training of 800 new heavy vehicle drivers.

In partnership with the Victorian Transport Association among other organisations, the Labor government has pledged millions of dollars in funding if they are re-elected at the November state election.

The announcement was made at a VTA reception recently.

VTA’s Peter Anderson said his organisation together with the Victorian Government has provided intensive training for more than 60 drivers through the Driver Delivery program, which has been crucial in placement of these drivers in industry jobs in the past.
