An incident has taken place on the Central Coast that could have claimed the life of a 2 year old boy. The toddler wandered away from his home and was struck by a Pantech truck as it made it’s way out of a service state at Ourimbah around 3:45pm.
The child was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital and placed in an induced coma, as a safety precaution. It is believed that he suffered only superficial cuts and grazes.
Police say the truck driver did not stop after the incident and it is believed he may have been unaware of what happened.
Officers appealed for dashcam footage to help identify the driver. In the mean time police were trying to match signage identified with local companies to pinpoint the truck and its driver.
