Chronic fatigue is a condition that many truck drivers are affected by but it’s long been assumed that the cause of fatigue is simply driving long hours, lack of breaks etc. but a new study found something else could be to blame.
A UK study has found a link between chronic fatigue syndrome and an over active immune system.
According to researchers an exaggerated immune response can trigger long-lasting fatigue. Researchers believe this is how the condition begins. The condition is also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis or ME.
In many cases examined by researchers, patients remembered an infection such as a cold or viral infection in the early stages of developing chronic fatigue.
