ACC Issues Truck Safety Warning

Owners of Volvo trucks of the FH4 range, sold between September 2012 and September 2016 are being informed of a circuitry issue that could result in a fire.

The problem caused the ACCC to issue a recall notice, warning owners and drivers that moisture and dust could penetrate electrical guide ways and may lead to a soft short circuit. If this happened, the wiring harness would overheat and could cause a fire.

Volvo is now required to contact all owners by direct mail and owners are being advised to contact their nearest Volvo Group Australia workshop to arrange an inspection and repair.

None of the Australian Volvo trucks have caught fire however the recall is a precautionary measure.
