Beware of Pedestrians when Reversing

It seems like the most obvious thing to do when reversing a truck but beware of pedestrians, especially small children that you may not be able to see in your mirrors.
An incident that highlights the importance of this message happened recently in Swansea on Tasmania’s east coast when a six year old boy was killed by a reversing log truck.
The truck driver father of the boy was reversing the truck with a trailer attached when the boy was run over. He died on the scene.
The father and the rest of the community are said to be distraught over the tragedy.
Investigations are underway, the transport authority said.
