Far Northern Truck Driver Loses fight for More Lenient Penalty

A truck driver jailed over a crash in 2015 which claimed the life of his mother, has lost his appeal for a more lenient penalty.

The incident happened in April 2015 and resulted in the woman being trapped under  the prime mover for about 7 hours before medical help arrived.

The driver, son of the victim, had lost control of the truck, pulling a double decker trailer, carrying 30 cattle at the time.
