Transport Operators Should Look into The Value of Automation – VTA Says

The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has advised legislators, regulators and industry leaders to pay attention to the impacts of automation and other forces on the nation’s transport industry.

The comments were made by VTA CEO Peter Anderson during the launch of a report by economists of the Australia Institute’s Centre for Future Work.

Mr Anderson said the report highlighted the importance of operators structuring their businesses to adjust for changes in the future.

Not only does the transport industry have to adjust to ongoing legislative and regulatory changes but also technological innovation and other external forces as well.

Operators need to plan ahead, taking into account new technologies and adapting business models accordingly.

Training and continuing professional education are also crucial, Mr Anderson warns. Source: https://www.fullyloaded.com.au/industry-news/1802/pay-attention-to-automation-vta
