After a truck driver was caught driving 150km/h with a defective vehicle on the Hume Motorway in Mittagong, NSW the transport company he worked for as a subcontractor has been subjected to an investigation.

NSW Police issued further defects and infringements after a blitz of the transport company linked to the driver with NSW Police spokesperson Phillip Brooks saying the operator would still be liable on the grounds of chain of responsibility (COR) and executive officer liability.

This case highlights the importance of ensuring everyone involved in the road freight supply chain is aware of their responsibilities. Learn more about Chain of Responsibility training here.
