A collision between a truck and car recently shut down the Lyell Highway in Tasmania, just outside of New Norfolk.

The accident involving a log truck and car was blamed on inattention. According to reports, a white sedan traveling on the Lyell Highway towards Hobart crossed the path of a fully laden truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the sedan has been blamed for the crash, after witnesses told police that the car had crossed double white lines and crashed into the truck’s front right tyre.

The collision led to the truck spilling its logs onto the highway.

The driver of the car was injured and taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital in critical condition.

The truck driver was taken to hospital for blood tests.
