The Sydney truck driver that hit into a grandmother and continued driving apparently laughed off a witness’s comments that blood was coming from under his truck.
The driver has been charged over the hit and run incident that killed 60 year old Jo- Ann Thwaites.
The hit and run incident pushed the pedestrian into the path of another truck.
The driver was stopped when a witness asked if he had seen what he ran over. The driver apparently laughed and left. The witness said he looked under the vehicle and saw material wrapped around the drive-shaft, the victim’s clothing. He just drove off.
The victim was struck while walking across a pedestrian crossing on Old Pittwater Road.
The driver has had his licence suspended until the case is back in court in August.
