A tanker carrying radioactive material recently flipped in the mid-north coast near the corner of The Buckets Way and Thunderbolt Way, north of Gloucester, NSW.

Following the incident, a 200m exclusion zone had to be set up by firefighters because of the radioactive substance being carried by the tanker. It is believed the tanker heading towards Walcha was carrying Cobalt 60, a potential deadly material on its way to the Lucas Heights Reactor.

The 29 year old driver was taken to Gloucester Hospital after checking the tanker for leaks.
