ALC Calls for United Front on Truck Safety

Following statements from the Transport Worker’s Union (TWU) national secretary that the federal government was standing by and allowing the industry to continue pressurizing drivers (which increased cases of road accidents and wage theft), the Australian Logistics Council (ALC) is calling for all participants in the supply chain to work together to improve safety in the industy.

ALC MD Michael Kilgariff said instead of pointing fingers, everyone involved in the supply chain sector should work together to improve safety including government, regulators and the transport industry.

He called for cooperation for better outcomes and cautioned the industry about exploiting every accident that occurs as part of an agenda to have the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal (RSRT) revived.
