If construction work on the Bruce Highway has been getting you down, the good news is that the section of the $8.5 billion project has been completed, and its six months ahead of the due date.

Federal infrastructure and transport minister Darren Chester said the opening of the Boundary Road Interchange would benefit all drivers using the stretch of the highway, by easing congestion and improving safety. It is an added benefit that the project was completed ahead of schedule.

The new interchange upgrade includes the addition of a six lane bridge over the highway to increase capacity and ease congestion. It also includes longer off-ramps and on-ramps and improved bridge clearance to avoid detours for higher loads.
