Driver Fined for Breaching Driving Laws through Adelaide Hills

NSW Joint Operation Uncovers Drug Driving and Load Restraint Breaches

A truck driver travelling on the South Eastern Freeway through the Adelaide Hills have been fined for breaking driving laws after police spotted the B-Double with smoky brakes.

The heavy vehicle was subsequently stopped and police discovered the brake temperatures between 201C to 270C.

The truck and both trailers were found to be defective and the company is now under investigation, relating to the maintenance of the vehicle.

The driver was also fined, for disobeying the use of low-gear sign and for load restraint breaches.

Had the new South Australian laws been in place, the driver would have lost his licence and the company and driver would have been facing massive fines.

The new state laws which are expected to come into place later this year involve jail time and huge fines for companies.
