Uber Decides to Scrap Self-Driving Trucks

Uber recently announced it would halt its self-driving truck developments and focus its attention on autonomous car technology.

The company acquired self-driving truck start-up Otto 2 years ago and it was revealed earlier this year Uber was secretly moving freight in Arizona via its freight service.

The company had originally planned to use self-driving trucks to complete the highway leg of a journey and would use human drivers to do the rest of the journey.

Uber has scrapped this plan and moved employees from the truck division to the autonomous car technology development division.
