At the recent Technical and Maintenance Conference (TMC) it emerged that many in the trucking industry are failing to do basicc daily checks.
The revelation came from a panel of experts at the conference, which is held by the Australian Trucking Association, Australian Road Transport Suppliers Association and Paccar annually.
A session at the conference in Melbourne entitled, ‘Training staff to do daily checks’, highlighted the benefits of adequate daily checks including how to pinpoint problems before they expand, reducing the expense of call outs and towing, minimising unscheduled downtime of vehicles and giving customers a higher level of service as well as maintaining safety.
