Ahead of the implementation of the amended CoR law which comes into effect in a few days on 1 October, the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) is holding Chain of Responsibility forums which are taking place all around the country. There have been over 2,220 registrations according to NHVR CoR Manager Kym Farquharson-Jones.

Due to the tremendous interest, Farquharson-Jones says attendance at the forums has been “excellent”, as the focus on CoR intensifies.

Farquharson-Jones reiterated that there is no need for panic given that no one will be liable for breaches which are out of their control. If people in the chain are doing everything reasonably practicable to identify, assess, reduce and remover safety risks where possible, related to transport activities, they are most likely complying with the amended CoR law.
