Montague Street Bridge in South Melbourne Sees Yet Another Truck Incident

If you’re a truck driver one bridge you’ll want to be particularly cautious about is the Montague Street Bridge in South Melbourne.

In fact the bridge has been hit by trucks over 100 times with the first incident of 2017 having taken place recently.

Pictures recently emerged on Instagram of a truck that hit into the roof of the bridge and became stuck. The truck can be seen idling under the bridge’s gantries which were installed to stop incidents like these.

The gantries are suppose to serve as a warning to drivers that trucks over 3 metres high will not make it through. This does not deter some drivers who attempt to make it under the bridge and become stuck. Many drivers end up deflating the tyres of the vehicle to lower it.
